As part of our bricks & mortar research, we went to the park on a beautiful and sunny Saturday to observe how parents are interacting with their children. Frick ParkAt the park we observed few teens with their parents, which seemed obvious in retrospect, but lead us to make the change in who our target users were. The handful of teens who were at the park were playing basketball, or using the walking path. Most parents with children were in the playground area, looking after their young children. As it was a busy Saturday, it appeared that many parents spent the time socializing amongst each other while keeping an eye on their children.
On the walking path, there were exercise areas that were not utilized, except as extended playground structures by children.
