In our first pass with our Kinetics system, we had a concept where kids would be more involved through the use of pedometer pets. These would track their activity, and give them disguised feedback about their activity, as well as suggestions of what they could do. After getting feedback on our storyboard, we cut out this aspect, as toys with children go through phases, such that our solution would not work for a longer period of time. An important aspect of our system, the detailed personal and family information for mom, was first introduced as this phase. It is a central component of our system, such that is has survived all the cuts to the final version of our solution. The last concept featured in the storyboard was the concept of a family fridge board, though which loose communication of activity plans could be sent. While this idea has remained an aspect of our overall system, we chose to focus elsewhere in our video sketch as we made iterations. A part of the reason for this was because of the movement away from focusing on how the children interact with the system.
