Design Themes
Using Contextual Inquiry we gathered insights into how a collector views and interacts with his collection. Using methods such as the Think-Aloud and Keystroke Level Modeling, we examined several existing products. Themes such as the desire for personal expression or the ability to display passion for a subject were not found in the current offerings. Positive aspects of real world collecting such as personalized customization of a system were also lacking. Overall, our research revealed that there is still plenty of room for improvement in the area of online digital collecting.
We start with an online collection, about a given collection with content already added. But a real online collection has a community element to it, people students talk and help each other.
